The day had finally arrived. The day we’d all been waiting for. The day that would surely be known as one of the most important days in the history of affordable FASHION – the launch of Missoni for Target! (insert gold warm lighting and a choir of glorious angels singing) EXCEPT, the stores were SOLD OUT in mere minutes and the Target website had more visitors than it could handle, causing this cute, but irritating dog to show up on computer screens across the nation. Fashion fiends everywhere were having their Missoni dreams crushed by an overloaded website and crowds worse than Black Friday. Did Target know what it had gotten itself into? Did Target understand there were frantic frenzies that broke out when that cyber-clock struck 12 am? The Missoni Madness continues…
I sat at my desk (unlike some fiends out there, I did not call in sick to work) watching as the twitterverse exploded with #MissoniForTarget updates. Then came that dreaded update I was hoping would never appear:
SOLD OUT!? How? Why? Has there been a mistake? Are they sure that even Hawaii is SOLD OUT? I sat there. Defeated. My dreams of frolicking through Target with a red cart full of Missoni For Target treasures slowly turned into a nightmare in which everyone else – everyone else in the entire world – owned a piece of the treasured, affordable collection, EXCEPT ME. When I shared the horrible news with my friend Lauren, she wouldn’t take SOLD OUT for an answer. She called Target – both Targets in fact – for the real deets on the Missoni for Target situation. Low and behold, Target Kapolei had come back positive.

So after some reassurance we did what any FIEND would do – we left work at 5 p.m. sharp and headed out to West Oahu for our chance to live the dream. And dream we lived. Well sort, of…
By the time we got there, pretty much every item had been wiped off the shelves and racks:
BUT, we managed to score some sweet little treasures! With only TWO size 8 pumps left, (yes, two!) we tried them on and snatched them up without hesitation. It was as if some sort of shoe god was on our side. Like this shoe god knew that we both NEEDED to get a pair:
Then, as we contemplated the rain boots, a sweet little Target employee walked past us with go-backs. We attacked her (not really though) and managed to find ONE size small blouse, which suddenly went from a want to a NEED for me in less than .02 seconds:
We walked ever so purposefully down the isles as if we were looking for the last golden egg on earth, when in reality we were looking for any sort of Missoni zig-zag signage that would lead us to treasures like this glorious duvet set that Lauren scored: (ps. it was the LAST Queen size set left!!)

I admit it: this duvet made me wish for a second that I didn't live with my BF. He would NOT be happy if I outfitted our bed with this.
Our third lap around the store earned this MUST-HAVE cardigan:
And FINALLY, this BICYCLE (which we didn’t buy, so shoot me now because I regret it!!!!):
All in all, we did five rounds of the store, making sure not to miss any opportunity. Yes, we walked around the store FIVE times and it was well worth it. Knowing that I was lucky enough to score treasures from Missoni for Target made my day, my week, my month and potentially my year.
In case you’re wondering how it felt to be part of the crazy Missoni Madness? Answer: Damn good. SO good I felt like I was floating on a Missoni cloud…oh, wait, I sort of was:
What about you? Did you partake in the Madness? Did you find basketfuls of golden Missoni for Target goods?

What an amazing day.
Even though I don’t have room to store a bike…I would have MADE room for that bike!
I know I should have just went for it and got the bike. It’s going to haunt me. The price scared me off. Can you believe they’re for sale on eBay for $900+! Now $399 doesn’t sound so bad.
