BECAUSE the entire freaking collection is for sale on eBay for stupid, inflated, inappropriate, hustler prices (yes, hustler prices). I’m typically stoked on eBay, but this is a special case for me. I get that people need to make a buck, BUT c’mon, sell some freaking lemonade or something. Or have a CAR WASH, or GARAGE SALE, but don’t bombard every Target store in the nation, buying up all the Missoni for Target items, JUST SO YOU CAN SELL THEM ON EBAY. DON’T DO THAT – THAT’S #LAME (I’m screaming these words, you can scream them too – I don’t judge). Oddly, Margherita Missoni’s tweet I saw today didn’t come across as very upset, but I’m sure the Italian bella had something else in mind when she tweeted this:
I’m just going to go ahead and read between the lines here and say that perhaps having learned English as a second language, she really meant to say this in Italian:
I know what you’re thinking…how the heck do you say that? Well, here you go! A special recording just for you
Translation: Why do certain people always think they’re smarter than others? Ma vaff…!! (I prefer not to translate “Ma vaff…” on my blog. Translation available here, but come back!)
Ok, so she obviously didn’t really tweet that, but don’t you wish she had? *Side note: Special thanks to my BF, who’s first language is Italian, for helping me put that faux tweet together. Back to the blog…
I know that a lot of honest fashion fiends woke up in the wee hours to score some Missoni for Target gold, but there were others who just did it for the money. Some may call them smart thinkers – I call them unappreciative fashion sabotagers. The last time I checked, unappreciative fashion sabotagers were NOT COOL in my book.
Some appalling facts…
- The pumps I got at Target (in Hawaii) were $47.99. They’re listed by the seller curiousgoodsoddthings for a Buy It Now price of $250. What a deal – NOT!
- The blouse I got was also $47.99. It’s listed by mafinak01 (who is a new user listing only two items that are both Missoni…hmm suspicious) for a $155 Buy It Now price.
- The floral duvet that Lauren got for $117.99 is listed on eBay by omlax for $349.99. Omlax happens to have 16 items for sale. Calculating all the Buy It Now prices, our
friend“unappreciative fashion sabotager” Omlax is hoping to bring in $4,319.84 total with a net profit of something around $2,500. UP YOURS, OMLAX! I hope nobody buys a thing off you!!!
You’re an HONEST person, Kimie. A TRUE Fashion Fiend. Bless your fashionable, songstress soul.
Now it’s time for you to feel the rage: Go to eBay, type “Missoni for Target” in the search bar and you’ll know exactly what I mean. I’m more than happy to read your rants (in my comments section below, of course) on the OUTRAGEOUSNESS of these measly, weasly, hustling eBay sellers. Please note: I’m very specifically referring to those selling Missoni for Target. The other sellers
don’t bother me.
Aloha (but only to those of you who are on my side).
ps. you’re probably super over hearing about Missoni for Target. GOOD NEWS: I’ll have some new, non-Missoni stuff for my next post. Pinkie promise.

yeah those people are lame! i would like to swear at them in Italian too! all want are the missoni flats!!
They can be yours for like $80 on eBay!! Lameness.
Super lame. But I’ll be honest, I am definitely watching a few items just in case I can’t find them in stores :/
Malia you are hilarious and thanks for including me in your blog
Crap you guys should let me know what you want. The Kona Target had lots of flats and pumps left 2 days ago. After returning my goods (about $200 worth, which included the cute missoni dress that’s sold out online, serving tray and tea cups, blue shower curtain, sleep cami and the hippy beach shorts) I saw their luggage and bought it for $200 haha! So I’m $800 deep but it’s worth every penny because Missoni happens to be my top 3 brands ever. Thanks Missoni and Target!
Oh sims, you WOULD return your stuff only to rack up that bill one more time…on even better stuff! So lucky you got the luggage! I’m j.
