Nordstrom Hawaii Cosmetic Trend Show

There are those who wake up at 6 a.m. to get ready for work or to get in a nice morning jog. Then are those who wake up at 6 a.m. to go shopping. Yes, I’m part of the latter, but I’m going to assume you already guessed that. So what on earth could have coerced me into waking up at 6 a.m. to go shopping? The Fall 2011 Cosmetic Trend Show at NORDSTROM – duh! And the best part is that I wasn’t the only CRAZY person to wake up at 6 a.m. on a Saturday!

Crazies.

More crazies.

By 6:55 a.m., dozens of Nordy’s fans (read: serious shopaholics) were already lined up outside, sipping on complimentary coffee and chatting with the FABULOUS Nordstrom Beauty Experts who were floating around sharing inside secrets about the much anticipated show. By the time the doors opened, hundreds of fellow Nordstrom lovers filed into the store. Each guest was greeted by smiling faces and uuber cute metallic gift bags:

More goodies!

The bada$$ people of Nordstrom turned the third floor into a rocking red carpet event, complete with a DJ, models, flashing lights, FABULOUS giveaways and enough energy to keep my sleepy eyes wide-open despite the fact that it was the crack of dawn 8 a.m. on a Saturday morning. nordstrom-hawaii-fashion-show

The boys on the left had some prime real estate seats - suckas.

The Red Carpet Glamour event featured a spread of the hottest beauty products on the market (all available at Nordstrom, duh). At one point in the show, I considered purchasing and using every featured product in an effort to look 25 forever. I ended up deciding against it, but I did settle on some SMASHING, DASHING products from Smashbox.

Nothing like buying a box full of beauty products for only $68!

This box of magic can be yours for only $68 from Smashbox. BUY IT – you’ll thank me.

Oh, and thanks to the handy work of my BFF Lauren, I also scored a makeup appointment with the Smashbox counter – just in time for Halloween. My makeup artist Michelle was the BOMB. She took my look from blah to BEYONCE in 30 minutes:

My makeup artist Michelle was AMAZING!

Yes, Lauren and I had to take one of these:

And although waking up at 6 a.m. on a Saturday was agonizing, NORDSTROM made it all worth it :)

Aloha.

Ohh, La, La: Lei Chic Pop-Up Boutique

Did this! My first event as a blogger – woohoo!! I’m not gonna lie, I was a bit timid (for those you who know me, this may be a bit surprising) when it came to really pumping up HawaiiFashionFiend.com, but it was my first event so GIMME A BREAK-geez! Back to the goods…

In case you’re wondering what the heck a Pop-Up Boutique is, let me tell you, it’s like a GYPSY convoy on fashion crack. Well, sort of. The Pop-Up Boutique was basically an AMAZING opportunity for some of Hawaii’s up and coming clothing, jewelry, and beauty designers to showcase their fabulous gems. This particular Pop-Up Boutique was extra exciting to me for a few of reasons:

1) My friend Fibi, who lives on Maui (and came to Oahu just for the event) was showing her uuber cute POSH PUA bikinis. These Brazilian bikinis will take your booty from blah to BOOTYLICSIOUS (shout out my girl, Beyonce).
AND
2) They offered delicious complimentary cocktails from IMBIBE Hawaii (the coconut Kai Vodka cocktail was heaven on earth and the bartender was the one to direct me to Cherbu-thank you!).
AND
3) It gave me a reason to visit Mercedes-Benz and pretend like I was car shopping for a brand new Benz:

I fell in LOVE with this DIVALICIOUS Benz at the FHB Car Show. Unfortunately, I did not purchase it at the Pop-Up Boutique, but IT WILL ME MINE! Just you wait and SEE!

The event was oozing with Hawaii fashion fiends…

Some fellow Hawaii Fashion Fiends...fiending it up!

Although I only picked up an adorable clutch from Jana Lam (cool factor: Jana does all her own textile prints!), some Cherbu beauty products and picked out few fabulous POSH PUA bikinis (this is me putting in my order Fibi!), I’d be lying if I said those were the only things I loved. My bank account is not endless, thus certain choices HAD TO BE MADE. I’m very happy however with my decisions and made these cute collages to showcase them:

In case you're wondering...I LOVE my Jana Lam and Cherbu products. Huge, HUGE props to these amazing designers.

I LOVE these POSH PUAS...apparently I also LOVE my new collage app on my iPhone.

You can visit Lei Chic for more info on the recent Pop-Up Boutique and the full spread of local designers that were showcased. To those of you who didn’t make it this time…you won’t want to miss the next one! Or, if you did make it, WHAT DID YOU BUY? Tell me, TELL ME!!

And in case you missed the links to these fab local designers (and custom event libations), here they are:
